Grandma’s House

I found some things at Grandma’s house,
Some things both fine and rare;
Some memories,
some sympathy,
A gift of time to share.
Inside a book, I found a faith
To last me through the years,
And on a shelf, I found myself;
In photos, souvenirs.
But, what I found at Grandma’s house
That meant the most to me,
Were loving moments she would give
And those . . . most tenderly
 

To My Sister On My Wedding Day


Once upon a time,
a long time ago
God gave a blessing to me, a sister
the best friend my heart will ever know.

A sister shares your life
when you’re young and growing up
you can’t choose a sister
like you choose a friend to love.

But when you get older
you choose the friends in your life
and if I looked the world over
you’re still the one I’d choose to be mine.

A Wonderful Mother

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old.

He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold.

In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks, fair roses you see.

God made that wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

To Dad With Love

Some things will always be in style
Good solid things like honesty, and trust and
caring about people.

It's qualities like these that keep us aware of
who we are
And what we can give to life.

It's qualities like these, Dad, that you've
taught me to value,
through your influence, your example, and

A special little girl God gave us one day,
You were placed into our arms for us to lead your way.

Footprints
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, You said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed You most You would leave me." 

The LORD replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.
